Regina Spektor – Sage Gateshead – Wednesday 9th November – 7.30pm
Regina Spektor recorded her debut in 2001 with the self-released 11:11, a collection of songs heavily influenced by jazz and blues. Songs followed in 2002 and Soviet Kitsch in 2004. Spektor’s commercial breakthrough came in 2006 on her fourth LP, Begin to Hope.
The gold-certified album included the singles On the Radio, Better and Fidelity, which climbed the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Spektor’s fifth album, Far released in 2009, and sixth album, What We Saw From the Cheap Seats released in 2012, both debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Spektor’s songs have appeared in TV shows and movies including Orange Is The New Black, Grey’s Anatomy, Weeds, How I Met Your Mother, Veronica Mars, The Good Wife and (500) Days of Summer. Spektor played for the Obamas and guests at the White House and performed as part of philanthropic campaigns for Tibet, Doctors Without Borders, and many more.
Her most recent tours included her first concerts in her native Russia plus sold out shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, The Royal Albert Hall in London and two nights at Sydney Opera House in Australia.
On September 30, 2016, Regina Spektor will release her seventh album, Remember Us To Life.
Following last year’s fantastically received event, the Drive-In Cinema returns to Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, South Shields for 2016.
Venue – Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, South Shields. From 29 Oct 2016 to 20 Nov 2016.
Tickets are available for £25 per vehicle and can be booked via the website www.thedriveincinema.co.uk as well as from Ocean Beach Pleasure Park and payment on the gate, subject to availability. The Drive-In Cinema always proves very popular and tickets sell fast so advance booking is recommended.

Once your car is parked customers may head to the catering kiosks where we will be offering a selection of your favourite cinema foods and snacks including; hot dogs, popcorn and nachos as well as soft drinks or hot drinks. All items will be clearly priced at the kiosks.
Food kiosks will only accept cash on movie nights and close at 7.30pm.
Skating@Life – Centre for Life, Times Square, Newcastle Upon Tyne
From 12th November
Newcastle’s only outdoor ice rink is back. Grab your skates, wrap up warm and head down to Times Square for a whirl around the ice.
Please note: children aged 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult on the ice rink. Children aged 10 – 12 must be supervised by an adult (adults can watch from the viewing platform if they prefer). There is a maximum of 2 children per adult on the ice rink.
