The Mile Castle
The Mile Castle – Lloyds No.1 Bar
Here at Nights Out In Newcastle we love to bring you the best in entertainment for your perfect Geordie night out. We decided to review some of the regions best bars and clubs to help you decide where to go for your big night out.
We decided to review The Mile Castle, a large JD Wetherspoons Lloyds No.1 bar set over three floors. This popular bar serves great food and drinks all day, everyday.
There are several widescreen TV’s showing videos. The bar will be a very popular addition to the Central Station area and will appeal to a mixed clientele of students, locals, business crowd and tourists.
Regular music is on play at most times with a dance floor at the rear of the ground floor and on the upper levels.
DJ Phil Lawson regularly does a great set and gets the party going on a Saturday night up on the top floor with his choice of retro 80’s, 90’s music.
There is a small outside seating area open until 6pm that is used for smoking.

They have a great range of beers, ales and ciders. Being a Wetherspoon’s it is very popular with people looking for a fun, affordable and unpretentious night out in Newcastle. Perfectly situated between Central Station and the centre of town it is a must for travelling Stag and Hen parties, football fans and tourists.
They serve good, reasonably priced food, and as a Wetherspoon’s it goes to say they provide excellent value for money. It can be very busy at all times especially at the weekend and on Thursday Curry night. This popular and firm favourite is their Curry Club offer, only £6.99 with a drink! All your favourites such as Chicken Tikka and Lamb Rogan Josh, or will you be brave and try their Chicken Vindaloo?
The Mile Castle is always good for entertainment with regular quiz and themed nights as well as being very popular on match days with their widescreen TV’s.
