THE MERCURY IS RISING: A rare opportunity to see a unique collaboration live in the North East
Nearly 30 years after their formation, this July sees Mercury Rev embark on an exclusive three-date UK tour accompanied by Sage Gateshead’s very own Royal Northern Sinfonia and ex-Cocteau Twins member Simon Raymonde. As an extra treat, Hazel Wilde, a founding member of the acclaimed indie rock band Lanterns On The Lake, will give her debut solo performance in support of her Bella Union label mates.
The tour is part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of British independent record label Bella Union, which was co-founded by Simon Raymonde, and who have released music by Beach House, Explosions in the Sky, The Flaming Lips, The Walkmen and many more.
