LeAnn Rimes at the Sage Gateshead

LeAnn Rimes at the Sage Gateshead

For as long as I can remember I have always been a LeAnn Rimes fan, from her first UK single to the hit movie Coyote Ugly and for many years after.  Now the Southern belle is touring the UK and has a whole host of new hits to wow audiences with.

Having rose to fame at the age of 13 with the Patsy Cline song Blue it is evident that 21 years later Leann Rimes is here to stay and has stood the test of time in a difficult industry.

Belting out tunes including ‘Can’t fight the moonlight‘, ‘Mother‘ and ‘Blue‘ it is really evident that LeAnn is in a good place right now.  Songs were interspersed with snippits about growing up in the lime light and how she is all about love and healing right now.

I even shed a tear at her new arrangement of her very first hit single ‘One Way Ticket‘, from quite an upbeat track to something that resembles a beautiful love song/ballad that really did show just how far LeAnn has come as both a singer and songwriter.

Flawless from start to finish and with a band that packs a punch I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend visiting this concert given half the chance.  The audience were very subdued and it is clear to see that her audience has aged with her as the whole evening was rather formal and appreciative of talent rather than a raucous night out.  However when she belted out ‘Can’t Fight the Moonlight‘ everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along and with an encore of ‘Hallelujah‘ it is evident that LeAnn loves what she does.

I just hope she doesn’t leave it too long before her next UK tour!
