Party like a Roman…
Hadrian’s Tipi festive retreat to open in the heart of Newcastle’s Central Station. The Roman inspired Tipi tent will act as a warming bar and eatery for visitors over the Christmas period. Hadrian’s Tipi will be a unique winter retreat with a difference offering continental foods, mulled wines and ciders amid an inviting setting of log fires and lights designed to recreate the days of Roman Emperor Hadrian’s travels around the region in AD122.
The festive pop up will have a great selection of draught and bottled beers including offerings from Wylam Brewery. A special addition to the bar is from Credence brewery in Amble who have created their own beer called All Ale Ceaser. The bar will sell craft beers and real ales, hot Gluhwein (mulled wine) and Wassail (hot cider), along with bottles of wine and fizz by the glass. Refreshments will also include teas, coffees and their own Hadrians Hot Chocolate.
The food offering will be a range of speciality sausages imported from Germany as well as a variety of locally sourced meat available from Northumberland. These will be cooked on an authentic charcoal swing grill. Vegan sausages will also be available. For our regions shoppers with a sweet tooth, the Tipi has the cities only dedicated donut kitchen with a wide range of delicious toppings.
