Easter Entertainment at the PLAYHOUSE WHITLEY BAY

On Wednesday the 12th of April, the Playhouse have the Mini Pony Workshop!

Join Smurf and his owner Lisa to learn about life as a star act, with lessons in pony care, feeding and grooming. You will also help Smurf prepare for his next appearance in the theatre by walking him around the stage to make sure he’s happy and having fun, while learning the tricks Lisa uses to keep him calm and relaxed during his big shows.

Tickets: £12, £10 (2+ Tickets).

On Thursday the 13th of April, Timeless Theatre Productions will be taking a trip down Memory Lane. This fast moving, roller coaster of a journey through some of the greatest songs of the 50s, 60s and 70s, will be a show you are sure to remember!

Let’s Hang On – The Music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons arrives at the PLAYHOUSE on Saturday the 15th of April.  This award-winning production, endorsed by Frankie Valli himself, celebrates one of popular music’s most successful bands of all time.  Take a step back in time with an anthology of classic hits including Grease, December 1963 (Oh What a Night!), Sherry, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Beggin’, Walk Like A Man, Big Girls Don’t Cry, and many more, climaxing with a spectacular finale of, of course.

On Monday 17th April & Tuesday 18th April, Anton Benson Productions return to Whitley Bay with ‘Robin Hood‘ starring Gareth Gates, Graham Cole & Zippy and George from Rainbow!  They are proud to bring the fun and frolics of panto to Sherwood Forest as Robin Hood and his Merry Men battle to outwit the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham.  Will Robin seize the day and win the hand of his fair Maid Marion?  All will be revealed in another laugh a minute, all-singing, all-dancing rollercoaster ride through pantoland!

The Playhouse also have Whitney – Queen of the Night on Thursday the 20th of April.  This stunning celebration of the music and life of one of the greatest singers of our time is an award-winning production featuring rising West End star Rebecca Freckleton delivering a powerhouse and breathtaking performance as Whitney. The show beautifully remembers the most highly awarded female artiste in the world ever!

The World’s No1 Eric Clapton Tribute Band, After Midnight, will be making a welcome return to the PLAYHOUSE on Friday the 21st of April with their show, Classic Clapton. This time, they will be celebrating 32 years on the road . They will perform all of EC’s classic songs including Wonderful Tonight, Tears in Heaven, Crossroads, I Shot The Sheriff, Lay Down Sally, Cocaine and of course Layla!  There will even be an “UNPLUGGED” segment.
