The Centurion Bar in Newcastle Central Station was originally the 1st Class Refreshment Room. This room is quite literally a work of art.
Voted ‘Newcastle’s most impressive watering hole’ by the Observer, the Centurion bar is a former first class passenger lounge welcoming an eclectic clientele. The Grand Central Station location puts it bang in the very heart of Newcastle. With it’s prime location and easy of transport it is a very popular bar for visitors and locals alike.
There are no strangers in the Centurion Bar, only friends you haven’t met yet.
Popular with both stag and hen parties they have a great selection of cask ales and regularly show live sport on their large screen. It makes a great meeting point to start your bar crawl or big weekend from, with plenty of other bars and pubs near by.
Full to the brim with atmosphere their opulent and luxurious settings are a throwback to the glory days of rail travel and you can image the gents and ladies stopping of for a refreshment before boarding the train.
The bar can get busy at times but you can normally find a spot to relax if you try.
