    Ship Inn   The Ship Inn is a lovely pub on Stepney Bank with a friendly, welcoming and warm atmosphere.  Great to sit outside on a warm day with a seating area outside. Serves great beers, superb whisky and wonderful wine. Unusually for a pub it now serves a completely Vegan menu, with some very interesting and delicious dishes available.  Famous for it’s all-vegan Sunday lunch with a roast dinner for £8.95 each – Aubergine and Tomato Nut Roast, Mashed Potato, glazed roasted carrots with beetroot and kale on the side.  Dogs welcome with well behaved owners. The Cumberland Arms has something for everyone with great beer and a fantastic place for live music. With seven real ale hand pulls and four keg lines rotating exceptional beers.  Emphasis is on the fantastic local breweries we have here in the North East whilst still offering a great range of beer from the best breweries across the British Isles.  With an award winning reputation for Cider we are always on the lookout for new orchards to add to our ever changing range of six Ciders, Perrys & Pyders all served straight from the tap.

Located in the heart of Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley, the city’s cultural oasis, The Tyne Bar has been a local favourite for more than two decades.  Ouseburn is rapidly becoming one of the most trendy alternative areas with it’s one derelict factories and warehouses buzzing with artists’ studios, pubs, music venues and independent cinemas. Locally sourced real ales; worldy beers and lagers – Erdinger; Warsteiner ; Weihenstephaner, Kriek fruit beers, Timmermans strawberry beer, Sam Smith Pure Brew; Grolsch.  There are also more spirits than you can dream of with house doubles only £2 plus mixer and a cracking cocktail menu.  Pub grub at it’s best: Delicious home-made sandwiches, paninnis, pitta pockets, pizzas and chunky chips and dips, cheap eats, great for hangovers and munchies For those looking for non-alcoholic options, we have a fantastic selection of soft drinks and any type of coffee that takes your fancy.  

  • THE CLUNY

    The Cluny  The Cluny is a music venue, bar, cafe, theatre, meeting place and more.  Right in the beating heart of Ouseburn it has long been a popular bar and venue for Newcastle’s independent music scene.   Ouseburn is rapidly becoming one of the most trendy alternative areas with it’s one derelict factories and warehouses buzzing with artists’ studios, pubs, music venues and independent cinemas. The Cluny have an excellent selection of beers, not well known and local hidden gems.  Very popular with the live music scene in Newcastle it is always good to keep up to date with what is on so you don’t miss out. As well as great music and beers they serve food from midday until 9pm every day, on Sundays they run a brunch menu (not Sunday lunch).  They also have a kids menu available (children welcome until 7pm). The Cluny is also happily dog friendly and there is an excellent space outside for drinking on a sunny day and is a popular stop off on an Ouseburn beer crawl.   If you are in Newcastle city centre and don’t fancy the walk along to Ouseburn there is a good bus service, with numbers 12, 22, 39, 40, 62 & 63 on New Bridge Street at the top of Stepney Bank.  Also the Q2 Quaylink bus also now serves Ouseburn Valley, stopping on Byker Bank.  Byker and Manors Metro stations are both within 10 minutes walking distance. There is also a reasonably-sized free car park, accessed via Foundry Lane is about 50 yards from our door.  Plus two small paying car parks under the arches of Byker Bridge. Walk-ins welcome, Good for groups or parties, Takeaway and Catering. The Cluny: 300 fire limit (includes all guests, band members and staff, we recommend sellable cap 270 – 275) Cluny 2: 180 capacity (semi-seated/fully standing on ground level in front of stage), 130 (fully seated) Both venues are available to hire for live music events, parties, meetings and private functions. Cluny 2 is also suitable for theatre, comedy events, spoken word and lectures.
