  • Crown Posada

    Crown Posada Visit the area’s most famous pub for a memorable night out in Newcastle.     Bealim House  Situated over two floors, Bealim House is Newcastle’s first authentic Gin distillery, bar and eatery.  Home to The Newcastle Gin Company and the city’s only working in-house Gin still, the venue is unlike anything else in the area.     No.28 Bar No.28 is an award winning late bar and a real hidden gem.  Serving great food that is fresh and vibrant, made using quality, and wherever possible, local ingredients. It has an excellent atmosphere, and is a one of a kind venue.  We really like this bar, with some great art on the walls and friendly, attentive staff we would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing chilled night out.  Open till 3am every night, they also offer the finest in made to order cocktails from fruity twists right down to the classics.   They also offer some great Christmas Prosecco and Tapas deals all through November and December, so they would be perfect for office parties or groups.


    The Forth Take a short stroll from Central Station and you’ll discover The Forth.  A Newcastle pub with a feisty past.  It’s hard to believe this laidback local was previously famous for hosting Victorian boxing matches.  Thankfully today, the mood is infinitely less volatile.  It couldn’t be more different.  The Forth is a pub to relax in, whether you’re savouring a glass of fine wine in front of the log fire, enjoying the tunes spilling from their DJ’s decks at the weekend or admiring the local art adorning their walls.     Ship Inn   The Ship Inn is a lovely pub on Stepney Bank with a friendly, welcoming and warm atmosphere.  Great to sit outside on a warm day with a seating area outside. Serves great beers, superb whisky and wonderful wine. Unusually for a pub it now serves a completely Vegan menu, with some very interesting and delicious dishes available.  Famous for it’s all-vegan Sunday lunch with a roast dinner for £8.95 each – Aubergine and Tomato Nut Roast, Mashed Potato, glazed roasted carrots with beetroot and kale on the side.  Dogs welcome with well behaved owners.     The Tyne Bar The Tyne Bar serves great music, drinks, food and atmosphere to those seeking a unique alternative bar. Located in the heart of Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley, the city’s cultural oasis, The Tyne Bar has been a local favourite for more than two decades.  Ouseburn is rapidly becoming one of the most trendy alternative areas with it’s one derelict factories and warehouses buzzing with artists’ studios, pubs, music venues and independent cinemas.     The Cluny  The Cluny is a music venue, bar, cafe, theatre, meeting place and more.  Right in the beating heart of Ouseburn it has long been a popular bar and venue for Newcastle’s independent music scene.   Ouseburn is rapidly becoming one of the most trendy alternative areas with it’s one derelict factories and warehouses buzzing with artists’ studios, pubs, music venues and independent cinemas. The Cluny have an excellent selection of beers, not well known and local hidden gems.  Very popular with the live music scene in Newcastle it is always good to keep up to date with what is on so you don’t miss out. As well as great music and beers they serve food from midday until 9pm every day, on Sundays they run a brunch menu (not Sunday lunch).  They also have a kids menu available (children welcome until 7pm). The Cluny is also happily dog friendly and there is an excellent space outside for drinking on a sunny day and is a popular stop off on an Ouseburn beer crawl.   If you are in Newcastle city centre and don’t fancy the walk along to Ouseburn there is a good bus service, with numbers 12, 22, 39, 40, 62 & 63 on New Bridge Street at the top of Stepney Bank.  Also the Q2 Quaylink bus also now serves Ouseburn Valley, stopping on Byker Bank.  Byker and Manors Metro stations are both within 10 minutes walking distance. There is also a reasonably-sized free car park, accessed via Foundry Lane is about 50 yards from our door.  Plus two small paying car parks under the arches of Byker Bridge.   • The Head of Steam Quayside

    The Head of Steam Quayside Camerons Brewery are delighted to announce the new Head of Steam venue will open on the vibrant Quayside Newcastle on Saturday 6th August. The venue, which is located on the former site of The Eye on the Tyne on Broad Chare Newcastle, will be the 10th Head of Steam venue in the North East brewers growing pub estate.     The Strawberry Pub – have a pre match pint in one of the oldest pubs in Newcastle.     Tyneside Irish Centre The Tyneside Irish Centre can be found in the centre of Newcastle, on the corner of Gallowgate Street by Stowell Street. It is a bustling and friendly place to visit.  It has a function room to hire if you are planning a party  in Newcastle upon Tyne. There concert room holds a maximum of 220 people and is perfect for larger events.  The Gallowgate Lounge holds 110 and is great for smaller, more intimate events.  The Tyneside Irish Centre provides a meeting place for the Irish community, their friends and relations, but our welcome extends to all.     THE QUAYSIDE BAR This popular pub is set in an excellent position in a historical area of the Quayside, overlooking the River Tyne.  There is an outside seating at the front which affords a great view of the river and the Tyne Bridge.   Selling a huge selection of global and local beers, ales and wines and of course plently of cocktails!  A brand new food menu is available from 8am till 11pm all day everyday.     THE BEEHIVE A traditional Geordie bar in the busy Bigg Market.   This narrow corner pub has a cosy atmosphere, with some seating to the front in a raised area and some high seats along the window towards the side of the pub.  There is also a cosy snug area at the rear with further high seating with shelves against the walls and pillars.  The rear of the pub sweeps around through a narrow passage to the other side of the bar.


    The Telegraph  The Telegraph is a friendly local pub in the city situated behind Central Station which has won awards as the safest pub in Newcastle to eat and drink.     THE MILE CASTLE The Mile Castle is a large JD Wetherspoons Lloyds No 1 bar set over three floors. Regular music is on play at most times with a dance floor at the rear of the ground floor and on the upper levels. There are several widescreen TV’s showing videos.  The bar will be a very popular addition to the Central Station area and will appeal to a mixed clientele of students, locals, business crowd and tourists.  It can be very busy at all times especially at the weekend and on Thursday Curry night.  As a Wetherspoon’s it goes to say they provide excellent value for money when it comes to food and drink.  There is a small outside seating area open until 6pm that is used for smoking.     SCIENCE BAR At the Science Bar they have awesome Cocktails & Craft Beer served in their wonderful drinks lab!  Great very quirky bar that makes science cool!  Excellent friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. The Science bar’s location means they are easy to find just by Central Station and is a good cocktail stop off for a Newcastle bar crawl.  It is a great location if you are coming by Metro and it has the taxi rank right outside.   They have a great selection of really nice cocktails and a lot of novel house cocktails too so there’s bound to be something new for you to try. We recommend checking out their Sci-fi library, play games or drawing on their tables while you drink a potion or two!  


    HEAD OF STEAM NEWCASTLE Situated right across from Newcastle Central Station, The Head of Steam Newcastle has gained notoriety for hosting the best in up-to-the-minute music and is constantly recognised as being one of the best bars in the city.  Combining both the bars welcoming atmosphere and warm surroundings with an emphasis on musical brilliance the Head of Steam Newcastle has proved a popular breeding ground for talent including early appearances from bands including the Arctic Monkeys, Maximo Park and The Futureheads. The upstairs bar was refurbished in September 2015, and is packed with great craft beers, cask ales, sharing bottles, and beers from across the globe!
